Do not be afraid; for see - I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:10 - 11 NRSV
The Good News Sunday School class is a class who seeks to share the Good News of Christ with others by showing the love of Christ with everyone we encounter. Our class originally began as a young adult families’ class in 1996. We have grown and changed over the years. We are now an Adult Sunday School class of about 45 members ranging from 30 – 60+ years. Many members have families with children consisting of a variety of ages. We are a fun loving and supportive group; nurturing and caring for each other, the church and the community.
We have covered a variety of studies and video series in our class such as Max Lucado, Lee Strobel, C.S. Lewis and the Nooma series. Primarily we enjoy challenging studies that sharpen our faith walk. These include life application studies, curricula for group Bible study as well as class leader generated materials for discussion. The Good News Class is less classroom, and more about members sharing ideas and learning from each other. Curriculum and class planning is decided as a group. Weekly class discussion is facilitated by a leader but leadership of the class is shared and rotates on a sign up basis.
Annually, we host a dinner for the NEST program; support the AIDS Hospice meal program; host Coffee House; and have supported a variety of ministries such as Heart Havens; Invisible children; Stop Hunger Now and Relay for Life. As a class we participate in many of the fellowship events of the church and enjoy a wonderful progressive dinner and ornament exchange each Christmas together.
We hope you will join us on the journey of understanding and applying Christ’s lessons to our everyday living.
