The Friendship Class was named about 35 years ago by a vote of its members. It was selected from a list of 3-4 names because it was not a person’s name that may not be recognized in the future by new class members.
The class uses the "International Bible Series", a quarterly publication, for its curriculum along with the Bible. Each quarter the study highlights different books of the Bible. The basic teaching style in the class is a lecture – with some discussion among the members. Teachers, who are selected by a person charged with finding qualified individuals in the church to teach the class, rotate each month. By having a variety of teachers, the class enjoys different points of view, theologies and ideas.
The class is made up of 25+ mature men and women – mostly seniors – conservative in their theology. We would gladly welcome other adults into the class – a sign of friendship.
The class donates freely to various projects throughout the year including projects initiated by the church as well as projects that meet the needs of others.
The class has an annual Christmas party and often gathers in the summer for a time of fellowship.
For class members, the sign of true friendship is the love and support we share with one another.
