My name is SueAnna Mirabelli and Iam theOpenDoor Sunday SchoolTeacher. My husband,John, and Istartedattendingthisclass about7 years ago.Wewere looking fora class where we bothfeltcomfortableand would be able togrow spiritually. We were immediatelyembraced by all ofthemembers oftheclass.Wealso feltlike this was a class where we could ask questionsand our personal growthwas challenged.
Fouryears later, our class lostitsteacherand Iacceptedtheinvitationtoteach.Iwas already use toteaching1stand 2nd graders butthiswas unchartedterritory.Teaching Adults!!!Wasthisin God'splan forme???Today,Ican say “Yes.”Ilove thisclass and each individual thatattends.Weare all herefor1 reason:Tolearn more aboutthe Bible and God'sdesire foreach ofour lives.
Every Sunday morning we startclass by saying a prayer.Wespecifically pray thatthe Lord's words are spoken throughme and notSueAnna on her own soapbox. Then,we go over our memory verses.Itis importanttomemorize verses because in Psalm 119:11theBible says,“Ihave hidden your word in my heartthatImightnotsin against you.”Wehave learned a new verse forevery year thatIhave taught.Takea look:
Year1:“Pleasantwords are a honeycomb,sweettothesoul and healing tothebone.” Proverbs 16:24
Year2: “Be joyfulalways;pray continually;give thanksin all circumstances,forthisis God's will foryou in ChristJesus.”IThessalonians5:16,17 and 18
Year3:“Do you notknow thatin a race all therunners run, butonly one getstheprize? Run in such a way as togettheprize.”1 Corinthians9:24
Year4:Thisyear we are learning theOldTestamentBooks oftheBible in order:)We have learned GenesisthruEzra! And,continuallyreview the10 commandments!!!!!
Afterreviewing our memory verses,we begin our Sunday School lesson. Then,we close withprayer praises and requests.
