Faith Works Coalition Yard Sale - Sat., May 19th from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Cedar Rd. Proceeds from this sale will help with home repairs for the needy here in Chesapeake.
Change the World Sunday - May 20 - Peanut Butter drive. Bring a jar with you this Sunday.

CPR Class - Saturday, June 2nd at 10 a.m. in rooms 131 & 132. Cost is $10 and space is limited to 10 people. This will include being certified & instructed on how to use the AED machine. Please contact Debbie Hollowell at 482-4254 or eholloe@cox.net to sign-up.
Come to the “Well” - You are invited to join Sandy Gregory and Pastor Janet Allen at a weekly prayer service, beginning Monday, June 4th at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well, he said “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” If you are feeling dry and in need of “living water,” join us each Monday morning at the well. Q & A Time - That’s right!! It’s question & “hopefully ” answer time with Pastors Danny, Janet & Thom. Join in the fun on Tuesday , June 5 at 7 p.m., in rooms 131 & 132, as we field your questions. Every one is invited ! If you have question , please give it to one of the above; drop it off in the church office or email to gbumcpastor@verizon.net . All questions need to be received by Sunday, June 3rd. We will be using scripture, tradition, reason & experience as our guide to help facilitate what will no doubt be some lively conversation.
Refresher Skills for Marriage - Marty Phillips, Executive Director of Tidewater Counseling Services - and long time friend of the church - tells us that marriage, like many things in life, requires different skill sets. On Tuesdays in June (5, 12, 19 & 26) from 7 - 8 p.m. in room 132, Rev. Phillips will share ways in which couples can address conflict, share power, & communicate better in their marriage. Join in the conversation and refresh your marriage.
